Welcome to Scales Mound CUSD #211
Scales Mound CUSD #211 is a comprehensive school system that services students from preschool (PreK) to twelfth (12) grade. The District is located in northern Jo Daviess County and is approximately 70 square miles in size. Students come from the Village of Scales Mound, Apple Canyon Lake, and the Galena Territory. Scales Mound Schools include a PreK-5 elementary school, 6-8 junior high school, and 9-12 high school all housed in one building located in Scales Mound.
The District has cooperative agreements with the Jo Daviess County Career Technical Academy and Northwest Special Education Cooperative. The District offers a comprehensive, rich curriculum and numerous co-curricular opportunities. High school students can enroll in dual credit courses through Highland Community College, advanced placement courses through the school curriculum and the Illinois Virtual School, and career technical courses at the CTE Academy.
The District offers students numerous extracurricular opportunities and participates in cooperative agreements with Benton School District, Wisconsin, for high school football and track and River Ridge CUSD #210 for golf, girls basketball, softball, and baseball.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR THE
Rebuild Illinois Fast-Track Public Infrastructure Program Grant
Scales Mound CUSD #211 intends to apply for the Rebuild Illinois Fast-Track Public Infrastructure Program Grant for Project 2021. The hearing date for approval of the intent to apply will be on June 4, 2020, at 6:00 PM. The Hearing will be conducted as a virtual meeting. This meeting is in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and State Guidelines.
The District discourages the public and/or media from attending the meeting in person at its noticed location due to concerns with health and safety and encourages use of the alternative method(s) of access that the District is providing. The information for accessing this meeting virtually will be made available upon request to the Board Secretary or Superintendent.
Information to access the June 4, 2020, Scales Mound CUSD #211 Regular Board Meeting:
- Call Ms. Ruth Foley or Dr. Bill Caron at 815-845-2215 or email at [email protected] / [email protected] to request a link to the board meeting.
- Requests must be received by June 4, 2020 at 12:00 PM.
- Requests must include the email address for the person who will be accessing the meeting.
- Once a request is made, the district will provide a Zoom link to access the meeting.
- Participants will be admitted to the meeting at 6:00 PM on June 4, 2020.
It is the intent of the district to apply for a $2,000,000.00 grant through the Rebuild Illinois Fast-Track Public Infrastructure Program Grant for costs associated with Project 2021.

INVITATION TO BID
The Board of Education of Scales Mound CUSD #211 is seeking bids for cafeteria foods, bakery items, dairy products, propane, and gas/diesel fuel for the 2020-2021 school year. Bids must be sealed, labeled according to content, and submitted by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 to the Scales Mound School District Office at 210 Main St., Scales Mound, IL 61075. Bids will be opened on the same date at 8:30 a.m. at the District Office. Bids will be reviewed at the June 15, 2020 Board of Education meeting. Bid information is available at the School District Office or by calling 815-845-2215. Bids will be awarded on a line item basis. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. (All prospective bid participants must verify and confirm that they are not debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded or ineligible for participation in Federal programs or activities.)
