Illinois State Scholars Chosen We are proud to announce that four of our seniors were selected as 2011-2012 Illinois State Scholars for Scales Mound High School. MELINDA ANDERSON, daughter of Norm and Kim Anderson, GREG COX, son of Boyd and Trisha Cox, KEVIN DIESCHBOURG, son of Joe and Sue Dieschbourg, and LAUREN WINTER, daughter of Steve and Angie Winter, were chosen based on their high school class rank and ACT scores. Students from nearly every high school in Illinois competed in the 2010 program. Of the 136,265 graduating seniors, only about 10% are designated as State Scholars and receive a Certificate of Achievement for the accomplishment. In order to enter the competition, high school students must take the ACT or SAT college entrance examination between September 1, and June 30, of their junior year of high school and have their scores sent to ISAC. Generally, selection of State Scholars is based on a combination of their test scores and class rank at the end of their junior year. Congratulations Melinda, Lauren, Greg and Kevin!
