District Info


Scales Mound CUSD #211 is a comprehensive school system that services students from preschool (PreK) to twelfth (12) grade. 

The District is located in northern Jo Daviess County and is approximately 70 square miles in size. 

Students come from the Village of Scales Mound, Apple Canyon Lake, and the Galena Territory. 

Scales Mound Schools include a PreK-5 elementary school, 6-8 junior high school, and 9-12 high school all housed in one building located in Scales Mound.

 The District has cooperative agreements with the Jo Daviess County Career Technical Academy and Northwest Special Education Cooperative. 

The District offers a comprehensive, rich curriculum and numerous co-curricular opportunities.  High school students can enroll in dual credit courses through Highland Community College, advanced placement courses through the school curriculum and the Illinois Virtual School, and career technical courses at the CTE Academy.


The District offers students numerous extracurricular opportunities and participates in cooperative agreements with Benton School District, Wisconsin, for high school football and track and River Ridge CUSD #210 for golf, girls basketball, softball, and baseball.
