Students worked together to discuss what recess should look like and sound like when we are being good friends. They shared ideas about cheering each other on, solving problems respectfully, inviting others to join games, and using kind words. To capture these ideas, students created posters to remind everyone how we can make recess a positive place for all.
We are proud of the thoughtful conversations and teamwork our students showed. When we focus on kindness, cooperation, and encouragement, recess becomes a place where everyone can have fun and feel included.

Tomorrow, Monday, January 26th will be an e-Learning Day for Scales Mound CUSD 211.
The forecast I have been watching throughout the day is calling for extreme temperatures continuing throughout the night and well into the morning on Monday.
When temperatures are this extreme I become worried about the ability for buses to perform as we them to. For this reason, and keeping in mind everyone’s safety, I feel it is best to have an e-Learning Day tomorrow, January 26th.
I wish you all a safe night.
All my best,
Dr. Marybeth Whitney-DeLaMar

Coach K still plans to open the gym for youth skills on Saturday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. for any parents who decide to brave the cold temps with their Hornet hoopers!
